ST. IGNACE — The Mackinac Bridge Authority reported today that they saw an increase in traffic across the Mackinac Bridge in 2015 when compared to 2014.
In all, 3.9 million vehicles crossed the bridge in 2015. That’s up nearly 300,000 vehicles from 2014.
Bridge Authority officials say every month in 2015 saw more vehicles than 2014 did. The bridge depends on all of its funding from tolls and fees that are collected from motorists.
Bridge officials have $180 million in maintenance work scheduled over the next decade.
