Breastfeeding Walk

More than a dozen moms and children joined the Marquette County Health Department WIC Peer Counseling Program at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette today to help raise awareness for breastfeeding.

August is world breastfeeding awareness month.

Today’s 2nd annual Breastfeeding Awareness Walk kicked off the events in Marquette County.

The walk in centered around the importance of breastfeeding for both baby and mommy.

This coming Saturday at the U.P. Children’s Museum, the WIC Peer Counseling Program will be attempting to break the world record for most mothers and baby pairs breast feeding at the same time.

The event is to help celebrate world breastfeeding month.
