Bratrud named CCSA skier of the week

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University senior Kyle Bratrud was named the Central Collegiate Ski Association men’s Skier of the Week following his stellar performance at the U.S. Championships this past week.

Bratrud won the 15K freestyle race, taking home his first national title, dominating the field with a 50-second margin of victory. Bratrud then continued to his strong performance and led most of the 30K classic race, finishing third overall after a sprint to the finish.

His weekend was capped by a selection to Team USA for the U23 World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan in early February.

The Wildcats return to action at the Telemark Super Tour for the next round of NCAA qualifiers this weekend (Jan. 17-18) in Cable, Wis.
