Brake failure causes SUV to rollover

A Champion woman suffered minor injuries after her SUV rolled over on U.S. 41 in Negaunee Thursday night.

Negaunee Police say the 23-year-old woman was driving a GMC Jimmy eastbound on the highway near the intersection of Teal Lake Avenue when she attempted to stop at a red light.  The vehicle’s brakes failed, causing the SUV to go through the intersection, drive over a patch of grass near the Citgo gas station, and rollover in the station’s parking lot.

Negaunee City firefighters helped turn the SUV over and it was towed from the scene.
