Brain Tumor Center Competing for $250,000

In education as well as on the medical front, there are a number of creative ways to come up with funding.

One of them is through corporate contests.

A U.P. medical advocacy group is in the running for a substantial grant.

But it needs your help.

It’s a group that ABC 10 News Now introduced you to back in June.

The Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center is a nominee for a $250,000 Pepsi Refresh grant.

The center works to empower patients and families dealing with brain tumors.

It provides advocacy, research, education and treatment.

The center is a collaborative effort between Marquette General Health System and Northern Michigan University.

The grant funds will be given to the organization with the most votes in an online contest.

You can vote once a day by going here.

You can also vote once daily by texting 101852 to PEPSI, or 73774.

Standard text messaging rates apply.

You can vote until august 31st.

The top two winners will be announced on September 1st.

If the center wins the grant, it’ll use the money to hire two research associates and two cancer research specialists.
