ONTONAGON — A low setting sun caused a snowmobile rider to lose control of his sled.

Jason Pertzborn of DeForest, WI was traveling north on Trail #12 about a mile and a half south of M-38 at around 6:30 Friday night when he came to a corner in the trail. Witnesses say that the glare from the sun prevented Pertzborn from seeing the turn and his snowmobile left the trail, where he struck a tree.

Pertzborn was transported to Aspirus Ontonagon SONCO North. His sled had only minor damage.
