NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — Some birds have found an unusual home for their nest in Negaunee Township.

Atop a tower that holds the weather radar antenna at the National Weather Service is a set of ravens. They were discovered on April 23rd when employees saw the birds flying around the parking lot.

Since nests trap moisture, a concern for structure erosion is high said meteorologist–in–charge Robin Turner. But plans for removal will fall on a later date and there are no current intentions of removing them from their new home.

The birds conveniently built their nest where they are shielded from the radar radiation.
