Big Truck Day fundraiser

It may have been raining, but that didn’t put a damper on the fun that young children were having looking at big trucks. The 5th Annual Dial Help Big Truck Day was held at the Copper Country Mall in Houghton on Saturday.

Dial Help’s Information Manager Kevin Weir says, “Kids get excited. We got police cars, the lights are flashing. We have really big vehicles they don’t see everyday all in one spot. We’ve got boom trucks out there; we’ve got fire trucks; we’ve got cake walks.  We’ve got everything going on here.”

Kids got the chance to get up close and personal with some of the biggest and most interesting vehicles in the area. The event helped raise money for the Dial Help Community Support and Outreach Center.

Weir added, “We just decided we wanted to do something different.  We deal with a lot of serious issues at Dial Help sometimes it’s nice to just have some fun.”
