“Best Catches of the Year” contest includes Michigan angler

The International Game Fish Association’s list of the “best” record catches from this past year has been released. It includes a world-record Great Lakes Muskellunge caught in the Lower Peninsula.

The muskie was caught in October 2012 on Lake Bellaire in Antrium County by Joseph Seeberger or Portage. The fish weighed 58 pounds and is 58 inches long.

The IGFA is now asking anglers to vote for their favorite ‘Best Catch of 2013’. The winner will receive the Angler’s Choice Award in April.

Voting started on Saturday, and you can vote once per day until March 31st here.
