Bernard Fish to spend up to 40 years in prison

L’ANSE — Bernard Fish will spend up to 40 years in prison for his involvement in a summer 2103 armed robbery.

He was sentenced Thursday in Baraga County Circuit Court to 20 to 40 years on each count of armed robbery, 5 to 20 years on each count of extortion, 2 to 4 years on the impersonating a police officer charge, and 5 to 15 years on each unlawful imprisonment charge.  The sentences will run concurrently.

Fish was credited for 360 days served.

Fish was originally scheduled for sentencing Monday, but it was delayed so Fish and his attorney could review video from the Baraga County Jail.  It was alleged that Fish could be seen with a homemade knife in the video.

ABC 10 will have more on Fish’s sentencing at 5:30.
