Bell Hospital EMS New Technology

In the event of an emergency, the faster the information is relayed, the faster care can be administered.

A Marquette County hospital is the first in the area to secure new technology that could help save a life.

The ambulances at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming are now equipped with mobile hotspots.

Bell EMS can now directly transmit 12 lead electro – cardiogram data to the emergency department from the ambulance.

It is as simple as pushing a button on the cardiac machine that then sends an e–mail to a doctor at the hospital through the WI–FI in the ambulance.

The information can be transmitted while EMS is transporting the patient.

This results in quicker, definitive care for cardiac patients.
