Bayou Bar and Grill robbed in overnight break-in

Michigan State Police are investigating an overnight break-in at the Bayou Bar and Grill in Chocolay Township.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post say Marquette County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a cleaning and maintenance employee around 3:50 a.m. who reported seeing an unknown male suspect inside the building. The suspect fled the premises before troopers arrived on scene.

Two K-9 tracking teams from the 8th District Hometown Security Team and the Marquette Police Department attempted to establish a positive track, but were unable to do so. A MSP evidence technician processed the scene for physical evidence and concluded that the suspect gained entry by forcing open a door.

An undetermined amount of cash was taken during the break-in, which remains under investigation.
