Bandanas for Cancer Patients
Children in Marquette have used their creativity to make things that local cancer patients will find very colorful.
Kids at Lake Superior Village made tie–dyed head scarves for the Marquette General Cancer Center.
The brightly–colored bandanas will be given to patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Lake Superior Village Youth & Family Center supervisor Ben Platt says the idea came from a Marquette-area physician, Dr. Melanie Purres.
He says Dr. Purres is a cancer survivor who received a similar bandana from her own daughter during treatment and thought more cancer patients should be able to have them.
The Walmart store in Marquette Township donated the supplies.
