Bakery expands new store with wood fire pizzas

ISHPEMING — The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce assisted the Huron Mountain Bakery in Ishpeming with a ribbon cutting event.

The ribbon cutting celebrated the official grand opening of the new store along with their new wood fire pizzas.
There are a variety of different flavored pizzas, all cooked with flour imported from Italy and cheese specially selected for quality from a farm in Wisconsin.

“They’re a great value, you can pick up a fourteen inch pizza $9.99 and it’s something like you’re not going to be able to get anywhere else in the Upper Peninsula,” said owner John Scheidt.

People who are interested in the pizza can call ahead if they wish, but it’s not necessary.

“The best way is to just come in and it’s very quick, it’s about three minutes to make a pizza in that 750 degree oven and it’s fun to watch,” said Scheidt.

Free samples of the pizza will be available until the bakery closes each night. Tonight that’s at 8pm.
