Autopsy results in suspect death released

ST IGNACE — The investigation into the death of a murder suspect in June has been completed.

The Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post has released the autopsy results for Marietta Carlson. The report showed that Carlson’s death was natural and the cause was endocarditis.

Carlson was in custody at the time of her death. She was a suspect in a triple homicide in Doyle Township involving a fatal vehicle fire. Carlson passed away in mid-June at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital at the age of 28.
