Ground was broken this afternoon for the new Aspirus Keweenaw Houghton Clinic.
The 18,000 square foot facility will be located near Wal-Mart in Houghton. It will offer a wide range of service ranging from family medicine, pediatrics, and a number of specialties to a pharmacy, lab services, and diagnostic imaging and mammography.
The new clinic will cost $5.4 million. Aspirus Keweenaw Medical Director Dr. Jerry Luoma says it’s about more than just a building.
Construction is already underway, and hospital officials hope to have the new clinic up and running by late spring of next year.
