Arrest made, warrant issued in robbery investigation

HOUGHTON — One arrest has been made and a warrant has been issued for another in the case of an alleged robbery in South Range last month.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says that 36-year-old Sasha Anderson of South Range was arrested for the false report of a felony in connection to the robbery at the South Range VFW on the morning of December 7th. Anderson was the person who reported that incident. If convicted, Anderson could face up to four years in prison. She is out of jail on a 10% of $10,000 bond, and she is scheduled to appear for a preliminary exam in Houghton County District Court on January 27th.

Thirty-six year old Clinton Jarriel, formerly of South Range, was identified as another suspect. A warrant for his arrest on the charge of larceny of more than $1,000 but less than $20,000 was authorized by the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office. Sheriff’s investigators are actively searching for Jarriel, and the arrest warrant has been entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network and National Crime Information Center database.
