HOUGHTON — The case against a Hancock man accused of shooting someone with a bow and arrow is moving forward.
Fifty-eight-year old James Walters is charged with attempted murder. The Hancock man appeared in 97th District Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Police say Walters shot a 56-year-old man in the shoulder with a bow and arrow following an argument at a residence on Summit Street in Hancock in February. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Walters is currently lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. His case was bound over to Houghton County Circuit Court where he is expected to enter a plea when he is arraigned later this month.
