Alcohol believed to be a factor in two car collision

IRON MOUNTAIN — Both the Iron Mountain Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a two car collision on US-2 between East “B” and “A” Street around 8 p.m. Thursday night.

According to the Iron Mountain Police Department, a Northbound car driven by a 56 year old woman from Kingsford crossed the center line and hit a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old female from Quinnisec. The female from Kingsford was transported to Dickinson County Hospital and admitted for non-life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old was injured, but chose to seek her own treatment.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision. A formal report will be sent to Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards for review.

Breitung Township Fire Department R-300 extrication unit and Rapid Response One Ambulance assisted at the scene.
