UPDATE — Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 4:00 p.m. EDT

More information has been released concerning the accident that took place in Marquette Township early Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. The accident involved two vehicles.

Twenty-one year-old Courtney Almli of Marquette was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty when she pulled out of the Lowe’s parking lot into the path of a Honda Element.

The driver of the Honda Element, 50-year-old Gary Vought of Three Lakes, Wisconsin, was unable to avoid a collision. He complained of neck pain and was taken to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Almli was cited for failure to yield. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.


MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — One person was taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Marquette Township.

The accident occurred in front of Lowe’s at around 1:30 p.m. One vehicle was laying on its side.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation. The Marquette Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
