ABC10 and CW5 announces upcoming changes

Tune in today and every weekday to ABC 10 and the CW 5. On July 13th, everything changes.

ISHPEMING — On July 13th, 2015, tune in to ABC 10 at 5:30 as we launch the next phase in our 19 year era broadcasting to the Upper Peninsula. We’re announcing some big changes.

For over a year, hard working engineers and management have been making improvements behind the scenes. The fruits of our labor will be revealed during the evening news at 5:30. We’re moving on from the past, and looking forward to a new, improved, and enhanced viewer experience.

Every weekday for over a decade, viewers have tuned in to ABC 10 WBUP and the CW 5 WBKP for the latest news, sports, and weather. At 6:30am, 5:30pm, 10pm, and 11pm weekdays, you see on-air staff working hard to bring you a ‘big picture’ understanding of our local community. Our goal in broadcast news is to empower and inspire viewers to make confident decisions for themselves and their families.

Since 2004, when we relaunched live and packaged news, sports, and weather from the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the station has been committed to informing the public for the common-good. We want to inform, update, and empower the public. Two years ago, we upped our game online with an award winning website. Now, we’re taking our broadcast news to the next level.

Because more people get their news from ABC than from any other source, as a proud member of more than 2,400 affiliate stations, we want our local news to match the quality of our beloved network. Just as we strive to improve our signal, personnel, social media and web outreach, we’ll now be equally enhanced on your television screens.

For now, we’re going to keep a lid on specifics.

We’re excited for the upcoming changes and hope you’ll tune in. As a news station broadcasting to Central and Western Upper Peninsula market, our mission is to provide the quality programming that ABC is known for, as well as the best entertainment that we can provide from syndicated programming. After July 13th, you’ll see that same concentration to quality during our news programs.

We constantly strive to give our viewers and our clients the best services possible. Lake Superior Community Broadcasting founders built a reputation for quality, excellence, honesty and integrity in broadcasting, and we are here to uphold that reputation.

Tune in today and every weekday to ABC 10 and the CW 5. On July 13th, everything changes.
