Lawnmower thief gets probation

MARQUETTE — A Marquette man who attempted to steal a riding lawnmower from a local business received his sentence in Marquette County Circuit Court Friday morning.

Brad Morris, 35, received eighteen months of probation for the crime of larceny of more than $1,000 but less than $20,000. Morris entered a guilty plea to that charge in July. He will also have to pay over $1,700 in restitution.

Morris was arrested by Marquette City Police in mid-June after they found him trying to steal the mower from Sears on O’Dovero Drive.
