NEWBERRY — An embezzlement case involving a husband and wife in Luce County has been dismissed.

According to the Luce County District Court, Thomas Gendron, 67, and Michelle Gendron, 42, both of McMillan, had the charges against them dismissed at the discretion of the county prosecutor. Thomas Gendron was originally charged with conspiracy to commit embezzlement of $100,000 or more. Michelle Gendron also faced this charge in addition to a charge of embezzlement of $100,000 or more.

The two were arrested after an investigation involving money that was allegedly taken from Pickelman’s Petro in Newberry, where police say Michelle was an employee.
