IRONWOOD — A structure fire was quickly contained in Ironwood over the weekend.

Ironwood Public Safety officers say they responded to a report of a structure fire on the corner of Oak and Hazel Streets Saturday just after 6:00 p.m. When they arrived, the first floor was engulfed in flames with heavy smoke coming from the home.

The fire was under control in less than an hour. Officers did remain on seen until just after 9:00 p.m. to put out hot spots.

The homeowner did exit the home safely. The incident is currently under investigation.
