One person in custody after home invasion

UPDATE — Friday, July 29th 3:00 p.m. EDT

The Marquette County District Court charged 20-year old Kayla Lyons with breaking and entering without owner’s permission, along with an MIP.


ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — The Michigan State Police Negaunee Post is investigating a home invasion that took place in the Sunnyside Estates Mobile Home Park early Thursday morning.

Just after 3:15 a.m., Marquette Central Dispatch received a call from the homeowners saying that a man and a woman entered their home. Soon after, troopers were sent to the scene.

Once the officers arrived, a 20-year-old woman was arrested. The other suspect fled the scene before the officers had gotten there and the investigation into his identity is ongoing.

The arrested woman was lodged at the Marquette County Jail pending arraignment. The name of the suspect will be released sometime after jer arraignment in 96th District Court where formal charges will be announced.
