GRAND MARAIS — Four people were injured in a head-on accident Monday morning in Grand Marais.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., a Ford pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old lower Michigan man was headed southbound on M-77, when the truck crossed the center line and struck a GMC Terrain head-on.

All three people in the Ford pickup and the driver of the GMC Terrain, a 72-year-old Grand Marais man, received significant injuries and were taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation. Names of those involved in the accident are not being released at this time.

Burt Township Ambulance, Burt Township Fire, Pictured Rocks Park Rangers, Luce County Ambulance and Luce County Advanced Life Support Echo Unit all assisted the Alger County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
