NEGAUNEE — Until the snow returns, there are hot spots for fresh produce throughout the U.P. And often times, you’ll find them under tents.

Every Wednesday until about mid September is Market Wednesday in Negaunee. Located at Miners Park, the market features locally grown and fresh produce, sweets, and crafted items for purchase.

Some of the vendors are experienced veterans. Others are joining the game for the first time.

James Hill is one of them, “This is the first time I’ve tried selling anything here. I sell stuff made of local rocks. Clocks and display rocks and a little bit of jewelry,” he said, speaking to the unique nature of some of the items for sale.

The market was open from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. today.
