Off road vehicle accident on Memorial Day

GLADSTONE — In the midst of yesterday’s Memorial Day activities, an off-road vehicle accident occurred in Gladstone.

At 1:44 p.m., officers were called to a report of an off road vehicle accident. The accident occurred in a wooded area near the Gladstone water tower.

An Escanaba resident, Justine Shervin, 45, was riding as a passenger on a four-wheeler driven by Gladstone resident, Brian Deiter, 45.

The four-wheeler’s tire got stuck in a rut, causing the machine to tip; throwing Shervin off the passenger’s seat.

Deiter suffered no harm, but Shervin was airlifted to Marquette General for non-life threatening injuries. Both riders were wearing helmets.
