SAULT STE. MARIE — A Sault Ste. Marie man is headed to prison for his role in a home invasion last year.

Twenty–four year old Jameon Cox will spend the next 6-10 years behind bars after pleading guilty in April to one count of assault by strangulation and one count of home invasion – 3rd degree.

Cox was arrested by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office in November after he broke into a residence on the 6000 block of Mackinac Trail in Sault Ste. Marie. After forcing his way into the residence, Cox assaulted two people.

Cox is originally from Grand Rapids, but was living in Sault Ste. Marie at the time of the incident.
