Man injured in early morning assault
ESCANABA — One man was taken to the hospital after he was assaulted early Saturday morning.
According to information from Escanaba Public Safety, officers were dispatched to the 1200 Block of 1st Avenue South shortly after 2:15 a.m. Officers found a man who was suffering from ‘apparent and remarkable injuries.’
The injured man was taken by ambulance to OSF St. Francis Hospital for medical treatment. He was eventually taken by Valley Med Flight to UP Health System – Marquette for further treatment. At this time, there’s no word on his condition.
Through their investigation, police arrested two suspects and took them to the Delta County Jail. Their names and charges won’t be made public until they’re arraigned in court.
The investigation into the incident is active and on-going.
