MSP Post receives an award

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Michigan State Police Post in Iron Mountain recently received an honor for their efforts in working with a local school.

The post received an award for their Outstanding Achievement in Community Policing, working with North Dickinson School as part of the ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.

Troopers from the post presented traffic safety programs to North Dickinson students and staff, attended school functions and helped students put together public service announcements addressing public safety problems, such as seat belt safety and distracted driving.

Some of the student’s PSAs even aired on a local radio station.
