MARQUETTE — It’s an event that’s all about filling your gut. The ‘Marquette Restaurant Week’ returns in just two days. ABC 10’s Jerry Taylor has more on the ten–day event that’s dedicated to food.
Sizzling bacon, boneless wings, homemade waffle fries, I could go on and on! The Eastside Originals and the Marquette Downtown Development Authority are once again teaming up for the fifth annual “Marquette Restaurant Week.”
Seventeen different restaurants will be offering lunch and dinner specials for patrons to enjoy. The week dedicated to foodies continues to be one of Marquette’s biggest events of the year.
“It has gotten bigger and bigger,” said Tara Laase–McKinney, Promotions Director for the Marquette DDA. “We get a great response from the local restaurants in the Eastside Originals Restaurant Association. They get really excited about being able to try new things and offer specials to people, things that they might not usually have or revise some of their old favorites.”
All of the restaurants involved with restaurant week are independently owned and operated. The event comes at a perfect time for the participating restaurants because this time of the year is typically slower than others.
“It’s a great way to get people to a restaurant that they may not have been to in a while or maybe a new place that’s open that they may not have had a chance to get to,” said Laase–McKinney. “It’s a great excuse to get out and go to a great amount of restaurants in a short amount of time.”
Restaurants will be offering lunch for ten dollars and select dinner meals for 25. Babycakes, Doncker’s, Sweet Water Café and Togo’s are some of the places participating in the celebration of food.
“We have a lot of the same returning restaurants. A new one that’s participating is Harley’s Lounge. There a new member of the Eastside Originals Restaurant Association,” said Laase–McKinney.
Restaurant Week takes place March 6th through the 15th. For more information visit downtownmarquette.org.
