Head-on accident sends two people to the hospital

IRON MOUNTAIN — Two people were injured after a head-on collision Saturday afternoon in the city of Iron Mountain.

The Iron Mountain Police and Fire Department says the accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Hydraulic Falls Road just inside the city limits. An SUV crossed the centerline and struck a car head-on.

The driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both drivers were taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Iron Mountain Police and Fire Department was assisted by the scene by the Michigan State Police, the Dickinson Township Fire Department and the Breitung Township Fire Department R-300 Extrication Unit. At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
