Trio busted for making meth

SAULT STE. MARIE — Three people are behind bars after police broke up a suspected drug ring in the eastern U.P.

The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce arrested 27-year-old Adam Edwardson, 26-year-old Britney Edwardson and 22-year-old Alisa Leblanc on Wednesday night. The trio is facing charges ranging from manufacturing a meth lab to maintaining a drug house.

While Tri-Dent detectives were running surveillance, they observed a vehicle leaving a Sault Ste. Marie residence. Officers stopped the vehicle, where they discovered an active meth lab. Police say the trio had made several meth labs over the past several days.

All three suspects are residents of Chippewa County.
