61-year-old South Range man extracted from vehicle in two car accident

The Houghton Police Department is investigating a two car personal injury accident that occurred over the weekend.

Police say it happened Saturday around 12:30 p.m. when a 25-year-old Houghton man drove his Ford Explorer through the intersection of Razorback Drive and M-26. The 25-year-old was cited for failure to yield after he collided with a Ford Escort traveling south on M-26. That vehicle was driven by a 61-year-old South Range man, who had to be extracted from his seat. His condition is unknown at this time.

Mercy Ambulance, Houghton City Fire, Hurontown Fire, Michigan Tech Public Safety and the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
