6-Year-Old Improving After Shooting
A 6-year-old girl from the Keweenaw is improving tonight after she was shot accidentally earlier this week.
The Franklin Township girl is in stable condition after coming through a successful surgery earlier today.
It happened Tuesday afternoon shortly before 5pm outside her family’s home.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says the girl was blasted on the left side of her body by a 20-gauge shotgun.
Police believe another youth who was getting ready for target practice was the one who accidentally shot her.
