Vehicle fire in Escanaba, no injuries reported
ESCANABA — On Saturday at approximately 4:27 p.m. Escanaba Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of US 2 & 41 for a vehicle fire.
The vehicle was parked on the north shoulder of the road, with the engine compartment and front passenger side engulfed in flames.
The officers were able to extinguish the fire after a short time, with some nearby grass left damaged by the fire.
Both lanes of traffic had to be shut down while the fire was being extinguished.
Other than some smoke inhalation from the passenger of the vehicle, no injuries were reported.
The fire is still under investigation.
