2012 Reconstruction on US-41
Residents in Marquette County will have another major construction project to deal with, but not until next summer.
US-41 in Marquette from the Carp River Bridge to the M–28 intersection in Harvey will be undergoing some massive renovations that should help improve the route.
The new highway will include 5 lanes, including a center turn lane.
Crews will also be adding full-sized shoulders on either side and a ditch to help capture water and snow.
That change is designed to keep the roadway cleaner and safer.
The new plan also calls for the existing bike path to be moved closer to the lake.
