Online ticket sales will begin soon for one of Upper Michigan ’s premiere fall events…and a major fundraising event for United Way of Delta County: the seventh annual UPtoberfest. The event is scheduled for the lakefront in Escanaba on October 13, 2012 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. (ET).
The event is hosted by Bay de Noc Brewers, Inc., a home brewing group, to showcase craft beers from throughout the region, offer education about the brewing process and support the local community. All profits from UPtoberfest will benefit the United Way of Delta County . UPtoberfest takes place on First Avenue North in downtown Escanaba, immediately behind the Hereford & Hops Steakhouse & Brewpub.
Brewers Secretary Josh Marenger says guests will sample microbrews and wines from across the state of Michigan in keepsake souvenir pint glasses. “The main focus will be on beer and wine produced in the U.P. and Northern Lower Peninsula ,” he says. The ticket price includes a large selection of foods prepared by Escanaba’s Bobaloon’s restaurant and specially selected to be paired with the many varieties of beers at the festival. Bay de Noc Brewers will also conduct a beer brewing demonstration.
Tickets will soon be available online at the official UPtoberfest Website www.uptoberfest.org. The ticket prices are the same as last year–$25 in advance and $30 at the gate.
